For inbound travelers arriving at Incheon Airport, that can mean the difference between a five-minute immigration process and a 30-plus-minute queue during peak arrival banks.
Until March 2026, SES eligibility was limited to holders of e-passports from 18 countries. The Ministry of Justice’s expansion nearly triples that list, opening the fast lane to a much larger share of Incheon’s international arrivals.
Which Countries Were Just Added?
The expansion adds 24 new eligible countries, bringing the total to 42. The new additions break down into two groups:
- 19 European Union member states, including Spain, Sweden, Austria, and Poland
- Canada
- Four non-EU Schengen countries: Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, and Iceland

How Do I Register for Smart Entry Service at Incheon Airport?
Registration is required once before you can use the e-gates — it isn’t automatic just because your passport is now eligible. Two things to check first: you need to be 17 or older, and you need an e-passport (the kind with the embedded chip, standard on most passports issued in the last decade).
At Incheon Airport, registration counters are located in:
- Terminal 1: 3rd floor, near Gate G
- Terminal 2: 2nd floor, at the government administration center
The process takes just a few minutes — you’ll scan your passport and register your fingerprints and a photo at the counter. Does This Replace K-ETA or the e-Arrival Card?
No — Smart Entry Service is a separate system from both.
